Here is a little video of Maddie and I playing around with the web cam tonight. Don't mind our singing, but we were having fun!

I bought tickets for the Shrine Circus on Saturday. It will be Maddie's first time and we are looking forward to taking her. More pictures to come!!!

Finger Painting

Maddie and I had a really nice weekend together! It started out with a quick trip to the mall on Friday night so we could pick up her pictures that had came in. She usually wants to run and not stay in her stroller, but we were on a mission. I had plenty of treats packed and she was such a good girl. She stayed in her stroller the entire time and we even got a little shopping in too! This isn't the best picture, but I finally got Maddie to keep her ponytails in. She looked so cute and all grown up! We had a fun lunch date with a few of my friends on Saturday and Maddie enjoyed sitting between them and sharing their lunch (thanks Katie and Carrie!)
Today was the first time that we have finger painted together. I wasn't sure how it would go or how big of mess there would be, but it went rather well.

Maddie kept painting in the same spot, so it ended up being a brown blob! I really enjoyed playing with her and we will see how the next time goes!!

Perfect little fingers of a perfect little girl who melts my heart everyday!
I love you Maddie Grace!!

Maddie's Birthday Weekend!

Madelyn had a wonderful birthday weekend. My parents arrived Thursday afternoon and she was so excited to see them!! She couldn't wait to get them into the house and start playing with them. She has Papa wrapped around her little finger and can get him to do anything. I think he was a little worn out because she wouldn't stop. "One more time" is what she would say to him as he tickled her and bounced her onto the couch. I could hear her giggle in the basement for what seemed for hours!! They were having a ball!!!The first thing Maddie did was bring Papa into the house and start showing him toys and books. Aren't the cute? Reunited again!
April 17th, the morning of her birthday. She loves to play with her Little People so this was the first present that we let her open. She was excited to play with the animals and the sounds that the barn made.

The day couldn't have been more perfect! As soon as she woke up from her nap, she looked out the window and saw her pink bike. She said "Maddie's bike" and ran outside for a test ride. It is so cute! It has blinker sounds, a horn, and plays music! She though she was pretty hot stuff!!
Thanks Grammy and Papa!!

Who would of known that a bubble machine would be such a hit? Thanks Matt, Jen, Dalen , and Lexi for the great gift! She went through a bunch of bubbles that day and was running around the yard chasing them!
Cece and Tim (aka Mr. Fun) arrived that evening for dinner and she was happy to see them too! We had a little scare and thought that she had chickenpox. It ended up being more like hives and some kind of allergic reaction. I was glad that I didn't have to call my friends with little kids and tell them not to come to her party.

Her party was on Saturday so we had cupcakes that night for dessert and let her blow out candles that night. She loved the frosting and didn't make to much of a mess.

Grammy's Girl!!! It is hard to get her to sit still some times for pictures but had fun snuggling and singing songs with Grandma at bedtime.

Maddie watches a lot of Disney so she had a Mickey and friends cake for her party. It took her a few tries but she got the candle blown out!

Auntie Shell and Matt got Maddie this cute little tent. They put it together while she was sleeping so we had to test it out! Maddie thought it was pretty cool and loves to play in it.

Playing in her tent!! Thanks Shell and Matt!!

Grammy thought it would be cute to get her a little tutu dress up outfit. She put in on right away and was running and dancing and checking herself out in the mirror!

I took a ton of pictures, but only posted a few. Thank you to everyone who came to the party, sent gifts and cards! It truly was a special weekend with family and friends and we had such a wonderful time!! I can't believe that she is two!! Where does the time go??
Madelyn did go to the Dr. today and is doing really well. She weighs 30.5 lbs and is 35.5". She is in the 90% for her age and is a pretty big girl. The Dr. was impressed with how well she is talking and hopefully we wont have to see her again for another year. There were no shots today, but a quick finger poke for lab. She was a trooper and didn't cry at all. I was really proud of her and she showed everyone her band aid on the way out.

Two year pictures!

The last few times we have tried to get Maddie's pictures taken have not turned out so well. I don't know what it is? I take her picture all of the time but for some reason, at a studio, she doesn't want to cooperate. I came loaded with a bag full of treats to bribe her with, but that only lasted so long. I wanted a picture with the number two...that didn't work out! I also had another outfit but this girl had had enough and was ready to be done. I guess there is always next time? Here are a few...Typical Maddie pose

The three of us...not to bad!

Finally, a smile!

Lookin' cute in her straw hat!

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! What a wonderful day to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus and spend time with family and friends. Bob had to work this weekend so we had our family dinner last night. We had the traditional ham dinner with ice cream for dessert. Maddie spent the evening cuddling with me and it was wonderful! I love those quiet times with her! Maddie Easter basket this year!
We had placed a few eggs aroung the living room for her to find. It didn't take her long and was eating treats first thing this morning.

Playing with the items in her basket. Doesn't she look cute in her bunny ears?

Maddie and I went to church and then stopped for a visit with Daddy. He wanted to see her all dressed up in her Easter dress.

My sweet little girl!!

This was the first time that we have played play-doh together. She was having fun rolling it out and liked it when I made the cut-out for her.

Rolling out the play-doh and using the play knife.

I can't believe that next Friday will be Maddie's 2nd birthday! We are looking forward to a visit from family and friends to celebrate her day!

Sorry, no pictures

I usually don't do a post without pictures, but I haven't had much of a chance to download them. I spent this last weekend with my sister painting while Bob and Maddie went on to Rochester to do some work at his Mom's house. We were both exhausted by the time we got back to Duluth Sunday night. Painting Michelle's place was a lot more work then I expected, but it turned out really nice when we were done.

Maddie has had a little bit of a cold and not feeling well. She is normally a healthy little girl so I felt bad for her being all stuffed up! She also has been spending a lot of the time in the corner at daycare for not sharing and hitting. Anyone have any suggestions how to break her of that? She will be two next week and has that attitude to boot! I love that she is talking so well. The other night as I was rocking her, we had the sweetest conversation. We talked about her toys in her room and sang little songs. We said a prayer before I put her down in her crib. I love how she folds her tiny hands, closes her eyes, and says Amen! So sweet...she isn't my baby anymore but this amazing little person.

When she wants us to hold her she says "hold you mama/daddy"
When she wants a hug she says "loves"
When she's tired she wants her blankey and nuk
When she wants to get out of her crib she says "up mama!"
If we are going to cook something, she pushes the chair over to the counter, puts her hands together and says "first sugar". It 's usually the first thing I get when we bake together!
She counts to 13
She LOVES to dance the minute a song comes on
Just a few things about our girl! There are many more but put down what first came to mind.

Spring is finally in the air and we are looking forward to be able to play outside! We are going shopping tonight for Maddie's two year pictures next week and trying to get things ready for her party. I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and I will post more pictures soon!
