Maddie's 3rd Birthday

We had another crazy week at our house preparing for Maddie's 3rd birthday party. It started off with me painting our bedroom the Sunday before. New carpet installed in our room and spare room in the basement and putting that room together on Tuesday. Cleaning on Wednesday. Bob having hernia surgery on Thursday and our new furniture delivered on Friday morning. I finished putting things back together and a little decorating just as my parents arrived on Friday afternoon. It was a whirlwind week, but we managed to get everything done before the party on Saturday!!!!It was a surprise for Maddie since she didn't know that Dalen was coming for her party. They played so well together and had a blast on the swing set!

Of coarse, Papa was the one who pushed the best and the highest! They were outside any opportunity that we gave them!

This year was a princess themed birthday party and she really loved her princess bike that she got from Julie. She can't wait to ride it to the park but she still has to learn how to pedal and not give up right away.

She got so spoiled from everyone at the party! We grilled burgers and hot dogs, had chips, salsa, fruit tray and pasta salad! Everything was tasty and we all had a good time!

Bob's sisters came from Rochester too so we had a house full! The more the merrier!

Sunday, we decided to take the kids up to Enger Tower and Canal Park in Duluth. It was a sunny day and the kids had fun playing in the park and chasing each other.

Papa and Grammy with the two oldest grand babies. Dalen and Maddie are 11 months
apart and are great pals!

Aren't they the cutest???
I only wished we lived closer and they could play together more often!

Maddie and Dalen had fun watching the big ship go through the harbor and out to Lake Superior!
The kids kept us busy and the weekend went too fast! We took Maddie and Dalen to the lighthouse in Canal park and they liked to watch the boats in the water. I was glad it was such a nice day with not a lot of wind so the kids had fun! We look forward to the next time that Dalen comes to visit!
I still can't believe that my baby is 3! She is such a big girl and we have fun just hanging out together! She will be a great big sister and helper when our new little one arrives. Now, if I could just get her completely potty trained we would be doing good...oh boy!!!!
