Rough start...perfect ending!

We had a pretty rough start to our week. It had been raining a lot so I was on a mission to find Maddie some rain boots. After three stores, I finally found some in the garden area of Target. Now my girl would be ready to tackle those puddles that she always seems to find.

Doesn't she look cute!?
Maddie was all set with her new boots and rain jacket so her Daddy let her run through a few puddles one afternoon. She was having a blast until....

she landed flat on her face. She was soaked from head to toe and had a pretty nice bump on her head.

She looks so sweet here, but don't be fooled! This week, she also learned how to climb out of her crib! There was a night where she didn't want to go to bed and was really upset. I had been in her room a couple of times and couldn't get her to settle down, so I just left her in her crib for a minute. All of a sudden we heard a huge thump! She had landed on her feet with her blanket in hand. This girl knows what she wants and will fight to get her way!

To complete our week, Papa and Grammy came to visit! Maddie was so excited to see them!

Perfect ending to our week! Spending time with family...see you in a few weeks!!

Spring???

So the first day of Spring was not so pleasant for those living up north! We ended up getting a few inches of snow which is getting to get a little old. All I want now is to be able to wear cute summer shoes and have pretty painted toes. Is that so much to ask for? Maddie was excited to get out this morning and do some more shoveling with her daddy. It actually was warming up rather nicely so they made her first snowman!

Maddie is super excited for Robbi to be here. She is his little shadow!

Rob got here around 9:00pm and Maddie should have been in bed. She was so happy to see him and showed him all of her toys! She didn't go to sleep until 10:30!

While waiting for Robbi to get her, Maddie painted us a picture

This was a great project her her! She painted three pictures before I told her she was done.

Tutu time!

I found this adorable site last week that makes the cutest tutus and reasonable! I ordered Miss Madelyn the "Popsicle Dream" tutu, headband, and wings for her 2nd birthday pictures. They also do random giveaways so I'm attaching their link so you can check it out. This week they are giving away a sweet little beanie hat with a flower! So cute!!

More Maddie, 23 months old

Here are a few more pictures from the weekend. Our baby girl is 23 months tomorrow and has a little mind of her own. She knows what she wants and tries to test us everyday. The terrible two's are fast approaching!I cleaned out a closet yesterday and Maddie was right there trying on every pair of shoes that she could. She is all girl and I love it!!

She couldn't wait to get outside and help Daddy shovel

Pretty girl!

New Camera pictures

I am really excited about our new camera that we received this week. My biggest complaint about our Sony was that it didn't take pictures fast enough for our busy girl. Our new camera, which is a Canon Rebel, takes pictures instantly so when Maddie says "cheese"....we are ready! Here are a few ...

Just like her Daddy...loves the chap stick!

Dressing During a Recission

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a shopper! I have been reading this great blog called Kelly's Korner, http://www.kellyskornerblog.com/. She did a post the other day about dressing cute during a recession so I thought I would participate. I would consider myself a clearance queen and hardly ever buy anything regular price. For example, this past weekend we were at Kohl's (one of my favorites) and I was doing my routine clearance rack scans. I found a great sweater dress, marked down to $6.20, plus I had and additional 30% off of everything! I then headed over to the jewelry and found some fun earrings that were also marked down. Put on some tights and high boots and you have an outfit for less then what it would cost to go out for dinner! I highly recommend signing up for department credit or reward cards. It pays to get the additional store coupons and if you want to pay with cash, you can usually pay them off right at the store.

Shopping for me is a little like therapy. I can go to the mall and search the clearance racks for hours. I love walking out of the store and looking at how much money I have saved. It works! I'm a happy girl! If I purchased a dress for $10 and it was regularly $40, I can easily find a pair of shoes and cute accessories for what the dress would have cost on its own. I guess you can call that "girl math"! My husband doesn't always see it that way, but that is how my Mom taught me to shop at a young age. You don't have to spend a lot of money to still be trendy! Some of my regular stops for great deals is JC Penney's(nice dress clothes for work and they are always marked down) TJ Maxx, Gap, Gap kids and Children's Place. Outlet malls are great too and you can usually find a steal! Have fun and lets go shopping!

The Week

Here are a few pictures from this past week. Maddie loves to play piano with her Dad, but gets mad when I play. She usually cries and wants me to stop. The sad part is, is I can actually play and Bob only knows one song that he plays over and over. Maybe it's to loud or she doesn't like multiple notes played at once. For now, it's the Maddie & Daddy Show!!Maddie, Daddy and her new puppy

Giving her puppy love!! She calls her puppy Hick-up!

What a good helper!! I came home one night and she was helping Daddy dry the dishes.

So cute!

Say cheese!!

It was finally warm enough to go outside. She loves to help Daddy shovel!

Road Trip

Maddie and I decided to head down to Minneapolis to visit my sister and good friend Lynelle and family. It was so fun watching our girls play together and I hope that we will get to do it again soon.

Emma, Maddie, and Ellie...three sweet little girls

Matt, my soon to be brother-in-law, has the coolest little fort in his house. Maddie had a blast on the slide and playing with all of the balls.
